There are four main types of electric lawn mowers available on the market each with their own unique selling points to meet the needs of most gardeners. Due to a need for a main electric power source some lawn mowers are restricted in their range by the length of the extension cord but are ideal for small-to-medium lawns. Using electric mowers are more environmentally friendly because they are more energy efficient and do not emit pollution to the environment. When operating an electric lawn mower there is less noise pollution coming from the garden mower in comparison with the gas powered garden mowers.
A riding lawn mower has less power than a lawn tractor but can get around flat surfaces quicker than most lawn tractors can. Riding mower models usually have fewer accessories and are not that great for use in the winter time. They need to be put away during the winter. You can find riding lawn mowers at many lawn and garden retailer in your area as well as online. As far as price well many of these mowers can cost five hundred dollars or more but in the long run since they save you so much time they are worth the price. There are many product review websites available so if you still arent sure if one is right for you then you can read reviews from other riding lawn mower customers including product specifications features pros and cons and just about anything else you want to know.
Traditionally the main method of mowing your lawn has been with a gas powered lawn mower. It is a machine that has served the test of time and performs the job well. There have been corded electric lawn mowers around for a while of course but gas mowers have remained the most popular. More recently though cordless lawn mowers have come onto the market and have been growing in popularity. But overall which is best? One of the attractions of gas powered mowers is that their range and how much lawn you can cut is limited only by how much gasoline you have in your can. Therefore for large lawns this is clearly an attraction.
These mowers operate like a bulldozer or tank in the way they can turn right back on themselves. Even though bulldozers and tanks use treads to control their movement and a zero turn lawn mower uses its rear wheels the principle is the same. By varying the amount and direction of drive power applied to each wheel you can control the movement of the machine. For example if both rear drive wheels on the mower are moving forward at the same speed the lawn mower will go forward in a straight line. If one wheel moves a little slower than the other the lawn mower will roll in the direction of the slower going wheel. And if you want the mower to roll in half circle just make one wheel turn backwards as the other moves forward. Normally zero turn lawn mowers have two rear drive wheels linked to hydrostatic transmission which is what transforms the engines power into hydraulic pressure.
